Terms and Conditions

Now for the boring bit... Every business requries terms and conditions of sale/service. This is ours for legal reasons:

As a user of this service, you are acknowledging that any use of our services, including any transactions you make, are done in compliance with the terms and conditions listed below & by confirming you have read and agree to our Prohibited items list.

 

Obligation to the Customer:

Passfield Couriers will arrange delivery of the consignment/s via its own fleet only. No other companies will be used. (Unless otherwise requested to cover via the Courier Exchange network.)

The Carrier has the right to refuse a consignment for given reasons, such as insufficient packaging or the consignment being larger than stated when the order was placed.

All queries/claims must be directed through Passfield Couriers, in the first instance, who will then contact the relevant Carrier on the Senders behalf. If the Carrier is contacted directly, Passfield Couriers may not be able to assist you with your query at a later date.

You are responsible for ensuring that all details regarding the full collection and delivery addresses including postcode are correct. Contact telephone numbers are required with the delivery details and no consideration will be given for refunds where the details were either not provided in full or were incorrect.

We will not delivery any item unless Proof Of Delivery (POD) is obtained.

All prices quoted are in Pounds Sterling and plus any relevant fuel surcharges*

Any service can be cancelled up to the collection date but will automatically be subject to a cancellation fee. (Minimum Fee £20)

 

Prohibited Items:

It is extremely important that you check that we are able to carry your goods before placing your order. If a prohibited item is collected and then returned, no consideration will be given regarding a refund and you will be contacted and charged for the return delivery. No claim, whatsoever, can be made for damage or loss of a prohibited item. Any of these items being sent may result in surcharges, delays or confiscation by authorities where appropriate.

Animal skins / Furs / Any Animal Parts / Ivory and ivory products

Articles of exceptional value (eg, works of art, antiques, precious stones, gold and silver)

Dangerous goods / Hazardous materials / Fireworks

Deactivated / Replica Weapons or Munitions

Engines / Generators / Gearboxes or any part containing or having contained oil unless flushed through

Firearms / Swords / Knives / Weapons

Food items ie Perishable goods

Jewellery over £500.00

Live animals

Money, Keys, Negotiable items / Payment cards

Pornographic materials

Tobacco and tobacco products / Drugs / Medicines

 

Collection and Delivery:

Passfield Couriers can only collect and deliver from full street addresses. We cannot collect or deliver from PO Box or BFPO addresses. If a consignment has been returned for this reason, no refund will be given and you may be liable for return charges.

We can not specify a morning or afternoon collection. Requests for certain time slots can be made but standard collection take place between 09:00 – 17:00hrs on any given working day.

Saturday collection/delivery options are possible but there is any extra charge of £20.

Please ensure that you are in during the collection date you request. You will be contacted and charged £20.00 if you are out when the Carrier calls to collect. You will then have to rebook the collection by contacting Customer Support.

Goods collected and/or delivered to remote areas, may well be subject to additional delays. If you have any concerns about timings for collection or delivery please contact Passfield Couriers.

All transit times are estimated. It is important that you be aware that unforeseen delays can occur for many reasons therefore please plan for such possibilities.

 

HM Revenue & Customs:

Unless specified, in writing, any quotes for service: are for the transit of goods only. Passfield Couriers has no control, whatsoever, regarding Customs queries, charges or time delays that may arise from the carriage of goods. Any additional Customs charges must be paid by, either, the Sender or the Receiver prior to delivery or when the delivery is made. Passfield Couriers reserves the right to pass these charges on to the person who has placed the order. If the charges are refused and the delivery is returned, you will also be required to pay for the return delivery.

HM Revenue & Customs have the right to open, retain and confiscate any parcel they believe to be suspect or failing to comply with Revenue & Customs policies.

 

Payment Terms:

All offers and quotations by the Company for its services are given on the basis of prompt acceptance by the Customer and shall remain open for acceptance for the period of 7 (seven) days unless revoked, withdrawn or verified by the Company prior to such acceptance.

All credit accounts are rendered at such periodic intervals and shall be the Companies policy from time to time and are subject to settlement within 30 (thirty) days from the date of invoice. Where payment is not received by that date any offer made by the Company to give credit or discount for prompt settlement will automatically be deemed to be withdrawn and the Company reserves the right to impose a surcharge on all outstanding balances at a rate of 8% (eight percent) per day.

 

Surcharges:

All prices quoted are in Pounds Sterling and plus any relevant fuel surcharges

By entering the weight and dimensions you are paying for transit only, based on the information provided. If the goods prove to be heavier or larger than the initial information given, you will be required to pay for the additional weight @ £10 per kg as well as an additional £15 administration fee.

Additional charges will be confirmed in writing only where an e-mail address has been provided by you.

You are paying for the transit charges only. You are required to pay any, additional, Customs charges that may arise.

If your shipment should require additional documentation, you will be contacted by Passfield Couriers. If this can not be provided, you will face delays and could be required to pay an additional premium for transit clearance or the cost for return delivery.

 

Delay, Damage and/or Loss:

You are responsible for making sure that your goods are packaged to a professional standard. Passfield Couriers reserves the right to dismiss any claim where goods were not packaged to such a standard.

In the event of damage, all packaging must be kept for inspection by the Carrier. The goods must be available for inspection in the state in which they were delivered, at the address they were delivered to. If the goods are moved, repaired or if the packaging is not kept, no consideration will be given to your claim.

Goods must be signed for as “damaged” when they are delivered, if that is the case. If goods are not able to be inspected upon delivery, they should be signed for as “unchecked”. If goods are signed for without written comment stating “damaged”, “unchecked” or they are signed as “in good condition”, you will not be able to proceed with any claim.

Remote areas may be subject to additional delays.

Passfield Couriers will not consider any liability for delays where the reason/s fall outside the reasonable control of the Carrier.

Any claim must be submitted, in writing, to us within 10 days of receipt in the case of loss and 14 days in the case of damage when the goods have been insured.

All transit times are estimated (apart from guaranteed services). It is important that you be aware that unforeseen delays can occur for many reasons, therefore please plan for such possibilities.

 

Insurance and Claims:

Each service comes with transit cover as standard.

Should you require additional insurance, you must arrange your own insurance cover, prior to booking a shipment. It must be noted that Passfield Couriers DO NOT sell insurance and that cover is only facilitated through our own Goods in Transit Cover.

No consideration will be given to any claim where the goods are deemed to have been insufficiently packaged upon inspection by the Carrier.

 

Limitations and Exclusions for Insurance Claims:

Insurance cover for lost or damaged goods but not consequential loss. The following items are excluded from our insurance policy and should not be sent using our service.

We will not insure items that are larger/heavier then specified when ordering.

If the goods are not correctly labelled, the claim will be voided.

Any claim must be submitted, in writing, to us within 10 days of receipt in the case of loss and 14 days in the case of damage when the goods have been insured.

 

Liability:

The person placing the order is responsible for all information given to Passfield Courier Services, we will not be held responsible for any incorrect information that is given and no claims or refunds will be considered in that instance.

In using our service, you are paying for transit charges only and Passfield Courier Services accept no liability for any Customs Duties or Taxes that may arise. In using our services, you are accepting full liability for any and all Customs Duties, Taxes and/or additional surcharges that may arise regarding the shipment of your goods.

Liability is limited to the company who are carrying the goods.

Loss or damage under the following conditions will not be covered:

Acts of God (or similar Deity)

Consequence of War

Insufficient packaging / Incorrect labelling

Prohibited contents

Passfield Couriers will deal only with the person who placed the order.

In no case whatsoever shall any liability of the company however arising and not withstanding any lack of explanation exceed the value of the relevant goods.

Liability is limited to the cost of transit only and to the insured value if a claim is raised and proved. We will not be liable for any further claim for any loss of profit, administrative inconvenience, disappointment or indirect or consequential loss or damage arising from any problem in relation to the service you have ordered.

Any claim must be submitted, in writing, to us within 10 days of receipt in the case of loss and 14 days in the case of damage when the goods have been insured.

 

Severability:

If any part of these terms and conditions is found to be unenforceable as a matter of law, the enforceability of any other part of these terms and conditions will not be affected.

 

Governing Law:

These terms and conditions and contract between us shall be governed and interpreted in accordance with English Law and the English Courts shall have jurisdiction over any disputes between us.

 

Statutory Rights:

These terms and Conditions are in addition to your statutory rights, as a consumer, which remain unaffected.
